About the Job
The Housekeeping Supervisor (Room Inspector) will assist the Executive Housekeeper in supervising all aspects of housekeeping and laundry – ensuring high standards are met and maintained. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Understand and maintain housekeeping policies, procedures and cleanliness standards.
  • Thoroughly inspect or clean all assigned rooms and public areas within prescribed guidelines for cleanliness and inventory.
  • Report results of daily inspections to Executive Housekeeper or General Manager within prescribed guidelines.
  • Notify supervisor/management when guest room services are complete so rooms may be sold or occupied by new guests.
  • Communicate status of rooms to Executive Housekeeper on a continual basis including the completion of daily assignment sheet.
  • Report faulty appliances, damaged furniture, missing guest room amenity items, and/or any potential health, safety or hazard concerns to management immediately.
  • Ensure guests’ privacy, choice and dignity at all times while servicing rooms.
  • Sign appropriate keys in and out at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Maintain, store and use appropriate cleaning supplies in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Maintain and inventory guest room supplies and amenities in order to minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping, such as towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, clean bedding, etc.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
  • Respond to guest complaints and/or special requests and take action to ensure guest complaints are addressed and/or resolved.
  • Report, turn in, and/or document all lost and found items, including items left behind in guest rooms, according to established Company procedures.
  • Open and close department when needed according to prescribed guidelines.
  • Communicate any maintenance issues according to appropriate procedure.
  • Assist Executive Housekeeper in training room attendants when required.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products and techniques is preferred.
  • Accuracy and speed for executing assigned tasks and job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a variety of days, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and self-control
  • Good comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through verbal communication
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
  • Must be detailed oriented, able to plan, prioritize, multi-task and meet job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate safely in the workplace
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in housekeeping services and supervision is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
